Real Madrid faces a defensive crisis: Ancelotti loses Alaba until 2025
Real Madrid is going through difficult days in defense, with more bad news than good. Carlo Ancelotti faces a worrying situation, as the key players who could strengthen his defensive line are still not ready to return.
One of the main problems is David Alaba, who suffered a serious injury on December 17, 2023. Although it was expected that the Austrian defender would return this October, his comeback has been delayed until early 2025. According to reports from Relevo, while the club remains hopeful about his recovery, they are also aware of the severity of the injury: a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, which requires a slow and careful rehabilitation process.
This setback adds to the already prolonged absence of Éder Militao and the physical discomfort of Jacobo Ramón. Thus, Ancelotti only has Jesús Vallejo and Antonio Rüdiger, though the latter is currently with his national team, for the next La Liga match on October 19 against Celta de Vigo.
With a depleted defense just two months into the season, the outlook for the team is not encouraging. However, if there’s a club used to overcoming adversity, it’s Real Madrid.
