The MLS Gem That Barcelona Is Watching
Julian Hall, from New York Red Bulls, could join Barcelona's academy in the coming months.
As it did in the past with Noah Darvich, Barcelona continues to search for emerging young talents who can join its academy at a more affordable price than the big superstars, and is looking to Major League Soccer (MLS) to avoid missing out on a player like Alphonso Davies.

Third youngest player in MLS
One of the names Barcelona is closely monitoring is young Julian Hall, who, at 15 years old, made his debut with the New York Red Bulls in October 2023 in a loss to Chicago Fire (0-1). In the past, he also caught the attention of Real Madrid.
He only played nine minutes that day. But it was enough to make him the third youngest player in MLS history, behind Cavan Sullivan (signed by Manchester City) and Freddy Adu. In fact, he surpassed Alphonso Davies by two months.
Followed by Barcelona
Currently, a few weeks away from turning 17, this young forward, who can also play as a winger, has played 13 matches with the New York Red Bulls, scoring two goals and providing one assist in just over 220 minutes.
His potential has sparked the interest of Barcelona, who previously signed another player from the United States, Sergiño Dest. However, it is most likely that he will not depart from the Red Bull structure and instead travel to Europe to sign with RB Salzburg or RB Leipzig. His contract ends in 2026, although NY has the option to extend it for another year.
