The Most Awaited Return at Barcelona
Andreas Christensen has been medically cleared this Friday and will be available for the next match of Barcelona against Getafe this Saturday, after overcoming a complicated Achilles tendon injury he suffered in August.
The Danish center-back played the first league match against Valencia on August 17, but was later sidelined due to tendinopathy in his left Achilles tendon. Initially, a conservative treatment was chosen, but it did not yield the expected results, so Christensen had to undergo regenerative cell therapy in the tendons of both feet.
After nearly five months of recovery, Christensen will be available for coach Hansi Flick for the match against Getafe, which is good news for Barcelona, as they can count on their central defender again.
The prolonged absence of Christensen allowed Barcelona to register Dani Olmo, who joined the team after the Danish player's departure from the pitch. This situation also gives the club more options for the weekend's lineup.
With Christensen's recovery, Barcelona hopes to regain stability in defense, aiming to improve their performance in the league, while the Danish player looks to return to his competitive level and contribute to the team as soon as possible.
