Vinícius Jr. Buys Soccer Team in Cristiano Ronaldo’s Home Country
Vinícius Jr. is making moves beyond the pitch. According to Brazilian outlet UOL, the Real Madrid forward is leading a group of Brazilian and Spanish investors in the acquisition of FC Alverca, a Portuguese club founded in 1939 and currently competing in the second division.
A Rising Club with Big Ambitions
FC Alverca has been one of the standout teams this season, currently sitting in second place, edging closer to promotion to Portugal’s Primeira Liga. With Vinicius and his investment team stepping in, the club could strengthen its long-term project to establish itself among Portugal’s elite.

The Real Madrid star is part of an investment group set to acquire nearly 80% of the club, as confirmed by former FC Alverca owner Ricardo Vicintin in an official statement:
"Together with my family, I made sure to carefully choose who would take over this treasure. Vinicius and his team are the right people to elevate the club to the next level."
While the financial details and the identities of Vinicius’ co-investors remain undisclosed, further announcements regarding the club’s new structure are expected in the coming weeks.
A Growing Trend Among Footballers
Vinicius isn’t the only Real Madrid player venturing into club ownership. In September 2024, Kylian Mbappé acquired SM Caen through his company Interconnected Ventures, highlighting a growing trend among football stars looking to expand their legacy beyond the game.
