“Mbappé Hasn’t Understood Real Madrid”: Harsh Criticism After Defeat
Comments from Josep Pedrerol have sparked controversy after Real Madrid CF’s loss, directly questioning Kylian Mbappé and his attitude on the pitch.
The defeat of Real Madrid CF against Mallorca (1-2) has triggered a wave of criticism that has shaken the club’s environment. At the center of the debate is Kylian Mbappé, who despite his strong goal-scoring numbers, has been questioned for his involvement in the team’s overall play.
One of the most outspoken voices was Josep Pedrerol during his appearance on El Chiringuito de Jugones. The journalist did not hesitate to suggest that the French star has yet to understand what it means to wear the club’s shirt: “Mbappé is very good, but he hasn’t understood Real Madrid. Mbappé FC is very good, but he hasn’t understood Real Madrid,” he stated.
Pedrerol went even further by questioning the player’s attitude on the pitch, hinting at a lack of defensive effort. “That idea of ‘I don’t run because Tchouaméni already does’ doesn’t work here,” he said, referring to Aurélien Tchouaméni. For the presenter, the issue is not talent, but mentality.
He also called on coach Álvaro Arbeloa to take action: “He should show him what the club’s 15 European Cups represent.” Pedrerol also referenced Luis Enrique’s well-known message about commitment and collective effort as an example to follow.
The message is clear: Real Madrid fans expect more than just goals. They demand leadership, sacrifice, and full commitment. At a club where history weighs as much as the present, Mbappé is under intense scrutiny and must step up amid a growing crisis.
