Barcelona Earns 19.1 Million From the Tickets for the Classic, a Historic Record at Camp Nou
Barcelona earned 19.1 million euros from ticket sales for the classic against Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou, a record for the blue and garnet club
Barcelona generated €19.1 million from ticket sales for the LaLiga EA Sports Clásico against Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou, a record revenue figure for the Catalan club.
The figure was first reported on Monday by Mundo Deportivo and confirmed to EFE by club sources, who added that the club store at the stadium set a sales record over the weekend and that Sunday, match day, saw turnover exceed €800,000 for the first time.
The €19.1 million taken in ticket sales surpasses the €16.5 million from last season's Clásico, played in May, even though attendance at the latest meeting, won 2-1 by Real Madrid, was slightly lower than five months earlier (62,055 compared to 62,213 in May).
Higher ticket prices, driven by dynamic pricing, and an increase in the number of VIP seats explain the difference in revenue between the two most recent Clásicos.
Dynamic pricing and the VIP boom
The average ticket price was €984, while the average VIP seat cost €2,727, with hospitality revenue up 350%, according to club figures.
The ticketing record comes with the Spotify Camp Nou capacity still far from the roughly 105,000 seats projected once the stadium's redevelopment is completed in 2028.
Success of the special Spotify collection
The club also confirmed that the special Clásico collection created with rapper Tyler, The Creator set an all-time revenue high since Barcelona and Spotify began collaborating with international artists around a Barcelona-Real Madrid match. EFE
