Flick: Barcelona 100% focused on ourselves, not Real Madrid
LaLiga leaders Barcelona will be looking to register a seventh straight win in the league when they host Osasuna on Saturday.
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick insists his side are only focused on their own performances and not the struggles of Real Madrid.
La Blaugrana currently lead the way in LaLiga after 16 games, as they sit four points clear of their Clasico rivals.
Since losing 2-1 to Los Blancos at the end of October, Barca have won six consecutive matches in the league and lost just once in all competitions (W7 D1).
They have also won their last six LaLiga matches by a margin of at least two goals, and have not won seven or more consecutive games in the competition by two or more goals since 2017 (W8, five under Luis Enrique and three under Ernesto Valverde).
Barca host Osasuna in their next match on Saturday, and Flick is not looking past their upcoming opponents.
“We have to focus on ourselves. Not on Real Madrid. 100% Barca,” said Flick.
“There is still a long way to go. We’re in December. For now, the important thing is to stay focused and pay attention to what we’re doing.
“All matches are difficult if you don’t play at 100%. It doesn’t matter who the opponent is: we focus on preparing well for the game. It’s important to get the three points.”
Osasuna are 15th in LaLiga, scoring 14 goals and conceding 18 in 15 league matches this season.
However, they did end a six-game winless run in the competition last time out, defeating bottom side Levante 2-0 at home.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Barcelona – Ferran Torres
Torres has scored 18 goals in LaLiga in 2025, the most by a Spanish player in a single calendar year in the competition since Gerard Moreno (21) and Joselu Mato (18) in 2021.
And after his hat-trick against Real Betis last weekend, only Kylian Mbappe (16) has scored more goals in the Spanish top flight than Torres this season (11).
Osasuna – Ruben Garcia
Garcia has provided four assists in 13 LaLiga games for Osasuna in 2025-26, just one fewer than he managed in the entirety of last season (five assists in 36 games), and he has also assisted in consecutive league games for the first time.
He also scored his first league goal of the campaign against Levante last time out, hitting form at the right time ahead of a huge task against Barcelona.
MATCH PREDICTION – BARCELONA WIN
Barca have won six of their last seven LaLiga matches against Osasuna (L1), and are on their longest scoring run against them in the top flight, finding the net in 15 consecutive meetings (43 goals).
They have also won their last five home games against Osasuna in the top flight without conceding a single goal; they have never recorded six consecutive home league wins against them without conceding in the competition.
Osasuna have scored 71% of their goals in the first half of their LaLiga games in 2025-26 (10/14), which is the highest percentage of any team in the competition in that period.
However, Barca have proven that they can recover from a slow start.
Flick’s side have gained 18 points from losing positions in the league this season, the most of any side in the competition, and the second-highest tally by a team at this stage of a campaign since 2010-11, behind only Girona in 2023-24 (19).
Barca have scored five or more goals in seven LaLiga games under Flick (54 games in charge), as many as they did in all competitions under Xavi (one time), Sergi Barjuan (zero), Ronald Koeman (four) and Quique Setien (two) combined (171 games).
