Robert Lewandowski is back in the headlines, although this time not for his goals at Camp Nou. At 37 years old and with 120 goals during his time at FC Barcelona, the Polish forward received a proposal that places him at the center of the internal politics of a historic club, Fenerbahçe.

The offer for Robert Lewandowski

According to journalist Tomasz Wlodarczyk, close to the player's circle, the offer amounts to 23 million dollars per season plus bonuses. However, the unique aspect of the case is that the proposal does not officially come from the Turkish institution, but from Hakan Safi, a candidate for the club's presidency. Safi seeks to impress the members with a strong campaign promise, to bring Lewandowski as a symbol of renewal and sporting ambition.

It is still far from being a reality

The context is not minor. Fenerbahçe will hold elections on June 6 and 7, where Safi will compete against Aziz Yildirim. In that scenario, the name of the Polish striker becomes an electoral banner, a resource to garner support in a contest that transcends the sporting realm.

For the moment, the deal is far from being finalized. Lewandowski has not made any public statements, and his entourage remains cautious. It is insisted that any decision will depend on the electoral outcome and other offers that the forward might have on the table.
