Mbappé Lights Up the Bernabéu With Hat-Trick Against Real Sociedad

Real Madrid delivered a spectacular performance in front of its home supporters. José Mourinho’s side defeated Real Sociedad 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu, powered by an extraordinary hat-trick from Kylian Mbappé and a decisive performance from Vinícius Jr. in a second half completely dominated by Los Blancos.

Real Sociedad competed throughout the opening 45 minutes and even went into halftime level at 1-1, but Madrid shifted gears after the break and eventually turned the match into a rout.

Remiro Keeps Real Sociedad Alive

Real Madrid started aggressively, pressing high and taking advantage of the visitors’ mistakes while playing out from the back. Vinícius Jr. had the first opportunity before Mbappé forced Álex Remiro into an early save.

The Real Sociedad goalkeeper quickly became one of the main protagonists. In the 20th minute, he rescued his team again following another dangerous turnover, denying Vinícius Jr. in a one-on-one situation with his legs.

La Real also threatened. Mikel Oyarzabal was denied by an excellent Thibaut Courtois save, while Sergio Gómez nearly stunned the Bernabéu with a spectacular volley.

Finally, in the 39th minute, Mbappé broke through. Federico Valverde delivered a superb pass, and the Frenchman controlled the ball before firing past Remiro to make it 1-0.

The advantage did not last long. In the 44th minute, Luka Sučić capitalized on a lapse in the Madrid defense to send the teams into halftime level.

Mbappé Turns the Bernabéu Into His Stage

The second half completely changed the match. Shortly after the restart, Mbappé forced another save from Remiro, offering an early warning of what was to come.

In the 60th minute, the Frenchman struck again to make it 2-1 and restore Madrid’s advantage.

Seven minutes later came the third. Jude Bellingham produced an excellent individual move before Vinícius Jr. finished the attack to extend the lead.

But Mbappé still had one final masterpiece to deliver.

In the 79th minute, Vinícius Jr. found the Frenchman with a brilliant pass. Kiki raced through on Remiro and produced an exquisite chipped finish to complete his hat-trick and send the Bernabéu into celebration.

Mourinho’s Madrid Sends a Message

A fifth goal even appeared to arrive in the 89th minute when Brahim Díaz converted the rebound after Remiro denied Carlos Espí, but VAR eventually ruled the goal out for offside.

The 4-1 scoreline was more than enough to complete an almost perfect night.

Vinícius Jr. was electric, Bellingham once again demonstrated his ability to break through defensive lines, and José Mourinho’s team produced a much more ruthless performance after halftime.

But all the spotlight ultimately belonged to Kylian Mbappé.

Three goals, a dominant performance and a statement of intent in his first home appearance of the season.
