Raphinha will join Barcelona's preseason camp at St. George's Park on Wednesday as he prepares for what could be the most demanding season of his career at the club. Entering his fifth campaign with the Catalan giants, the Brazilian knows he faces intense competition for a starting role and that his future remains a topic of internal debate.

Barcelona strengthened the left wing this summer by signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle in a deal worth €70 million plus up to €10 million in performance-related bonuses. The arrival of Karim Adeyemi also gives head coach Hansi Flick another versatile attacking option capable of operating on the left, while Ferran Torres and Fermín López provide additional depth.

Despite the increased competition, Raphinha remains committed to Barcelona. The 29-year-old rejected lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia during the transfer window, making it clear that his priority is to fulfill his contract, which runs until June 2028.

Still, opinions within the club are divided. Some executives believe the squad is already well covered in his position and would consider selling the Brazilian, whose market value is estimated at around €70 million. Hansi Flick, however, continues to back the winger. The German coach values not only Raphinha's performances on the pitch but also his leadership and mentorship of the club's younger players. Last season, the Brazilian scored 21 goals and provided eight assists in 33 appearances, numbers that underline his importance to the squad.
