Chacho Coudet debuted with River Plate and another coach was watching from the stands
River Plate began a new chapter under head coach Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet with a 2-1 away victory over Huracán at the Tomás Adolfo Ducó Stadium in the tenth round of the Argentine Torneo Apertura.
River Plate began a new chapter under head coach Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet with a 2-1 away victory over Huracán at the Tomás Adolfo Ducó Stadium in the tenth round of the Argentine Torneo Apertura.
The visitors took the lead through Sebastián Driussi, who opened the scoring in a tightly contested match. Huracán responded and equalized thanks to Ecuadorian striker Jordy Caicedo, who converted from the penalty spot.
River regained the lead later in the match when Gonzalo Montiel scored another penalty that ultimately secured the victory.
The game featured several dramatic moments. Ecuadorian goalkeeper Hernán Galíndez saved a penalty from Colombian midfielder Juan Fernando Quintero, who had entered the match in the second half. The match also ended with two red cards, one for Huracán’s Lucas Carrizo and another for River’s Facundo Colidio.
The win marked Coudet’s first match in charge of River Plate after leaving Deportivo Alavés, following the end of Marcelo Gallardo’s second stint as manager and a brief interim spell by Marcelo Escudero.

River move up in the standings
With the victory, River Plate climbed to fifth place in Zone B with 14 points in the Torneo Apertura standings.
Huracán, meanwhile, remained eighth with 12 points, after a match in which they briefly managed to level the score but could not hold off the visitors.
Why was Sebastián Beccacece at Tomás Adolfo Ducó Stadium?
Among the spectators was Sebastián Beccacece, head coach of the Ecuador national team, who attended the match to monitor several Ecuadorian players.
Beccacece watched goalkeeper Hernán Galíndez and striker Jordy Caicedo, both playing for Huracán, as well as young midfielder Kendry Páez, who is part of River Plate’s squad.
