Dembélé and Hakimi Lead PSG to Victory Against Lyon in Ligue 1
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured an important 2-3 win in their visit to Lyon, thanks to standout performances from Achraf Hakimi, who scored a brace, and Ousmane Dembélé. This victory allows Luis Enrique’s side to extend their lead at the top of Ligue 1, especially after some recent setbacks from their closest rivals.
PSG Keep Rolling in Ligue 1
Olympique Marseille, currently in second place, suffered a 3-0 defeat in Auxerre on Saturday, leaving PSG with a 13-point advantage. Meanwhile, PSG continues to demonstrate strong form after a series of victories, including a recent win over Brest in the Champions League qualifying.
PSG’s Dominance and Hakimi’s Brace
PSG took control of the match early on, with Ousmane Dembélé showcasing his impressive form. The team has also integrated Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is adapting to their style of play and causing constant danger.
The second half saw PSG push harder, and in just six minutes, they secured the victory. First, in the 53rd minute, Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring after a cross from Bradley Barcola. Then, in the 59th minute, Dembélé added a stunning goal with his left foot following an assist from Kvaratskhelia.
Despite some chances from Lyon, who capitalized on a counterattack finished by Mathis Cherki in the 70th minute, PSG sealed the win when Hakimi scored again in the 76th minute, assisted by Kang In Lee. Corentin Tolisso’s added-time goal made it 3-2, but it was too late for Lyon to turn the match around.
