Lacazette’s Brace Seals Olympique Lyon’s Comeback Win Over Brest in Ligue 1
Two goals from Alexandre Lacazette, both assisted by Rayan Cherki, powered Olympique Lyon to a comeback victory at the Parc Olympique against Stade Brestois, strengthening their push for European spots in Ligue 1
Lacazette Leads the Fightback
After suffering a setback against Paris Saint-Germain in the previous round, ending a two-game winning streak, Paulo Fonseca’s side needed a response. However, things started poorly when Lacazette was penalized for a shirt pull on Mahdi Camara inside the box. American full-back Kenny Lala converted the penalty in the 15th minute, giving Brest the early lead.

But Lyon wasted no time in hitting back. In the 24th minute, a pinpoint pass from Cherki set up Lacazette, who slotted past Marco Bizot to level the score.
Late Winner Secures Vital Points
The decisive moment came in the 82nd minute when Cherki delivered another perfect cross from the left. Lacazette, positioned between the defenders, fired past Bizot to complete the comeback and secure a massive three points for Lyon. With this win, Olympique Lyon cements its sixth-place position, now five points clear of Strasbourg, and closes the gap on Lille, who lost to PSG, leaving just a two-point difference.
