PSG Won’t Settle and Wants to Write its Name in the History Books of Ligue 1
PSG could become the first team to win Ligue 1 without losing a single match throughout the entire season
With a lone goal by Désiré Doué early in the second half, PSG didn’t falter during Angers' visit to the Parc des Princes and won their thirteenth Championnat in history, and their tenth since Qatar took ownership, reaffirming themselves as the most decorated team in French football. However, this team is not satisfied, and with six games still to go, they want to write their name in the history books of Ligue 1.

PSG and the possibility of setting a new record in Ligue 1
After 28 games played, Luis Enrique has managed to match the 74 points achieved by Unai Emery in the 2017-18 season and Thomas Tuchel just one year later. This is the highest points total in PSG's history at this stage of the competition. However, it is mathematically impossible to surpass the 96 points they themselves recorded in the 2015-16 season when 38 matches were still played in Ligue 1.
The highest points total PSG can still reach in the final six matches of the season is 92 points, which would be the third-best record in their history. However, if they achieve this, it would mean that PSG will have gone unbeaten throughout the entire season, thus becoming the first invincible champion since the founding of France's First Division in 1932.
PSG is aiming for the treble
In any case, PSG is four matches away from matching the unbeaten record in Ligue 1, currently held by Nantes. In fact, they are the rival against which PSG could surpass Milan as the team with the most consecutive away matches without losing in the league, with a total of 38 matches... taking into account the ongoing unbeaten streak PSG has maintained since last season.
Therefore, PSG holds in its hands the opportunity to write its name in the history books of Ligue 1. Luis Enrique’s ambition is certainly to do so, as he understands that continuing to compete at the highest level is the best way to approach the crucial phase of the season. And with the quarterfinals of the Champions League against Aston Villa and the Coupe de France final ahead against Reims, the impression given by this PSG is that it has never been in a better position to conquer the treble.
