Endrick Was Sent off in the Nantes vs. Lyon Match, and His Coach Paulo Fonseca Defended Him
The Lyon coach took it upon himself to defend Endrick after his double yellow card expulsion in the match against Nantes in Ligue 1
Sent off for a second yellow
Endrick was sent off in Lyon's last match, and his coach came out to defend him. The Brazilian forward was booked with a yellow card in the first minutes of the match for trying to stop a counterattack. Then, in the second half, he was involved in a tackle against a Nantes player, and after a VAR review by the match referee, it was decided to issue another yellow card to the Lyon attacker, which would mean his immediate expulsion from the field.
Fonseca jumped to Endrick's defense
The Lyon coach exploded in favor of Endrick and spoke about the expulsion of his player: "There is an intention to intimidate Endrick, it's not the first time, referees need to pay attention and protect talented players." In itself, it's not the first red card the Brazilian player has received, but it is the first one while playing for Lyon since he was loaned from Real Madrid, after not getting consistent and significant playing time.

Endrick's streak and the sanction
Until his expulsion, Endrick had been having a very good start to the season with the French team, scoring 5 goals in just 8 matches. That's why Paulo Fonseca was also quick to defend the forward against the sanction; for now, he will miss the match against OGC Nice, but there is a possibility that the sanction could be extended for more matches.
Will Endrick be able to continue his scoring streak at the new French club, despite this setback?
