Ferran Torres explained the reasons behind his decision to leave Barcelona for PSG and revealed that talks with the Parisian club began before the World Cup.

Ferran Torres has started a new chapter in his career after spending four and a half seasons with Barcelona. The Spanish forward, who joined PSG this summer, believes moving to the reigning European champions represents an important step forward in his career.

During a Media Day organized by the Parisian club, Ferran revealed that the first talks over his transfer began even before the World Cup. The forward explained that he quickly became convinced that accepting the French club's offer was the right decision.

“Talks with PSG began even before the World Cup. They called us and we spoke. After that, I had already made my decision because I wanted to play for a club like PSG. It's a step forward in my career, and I'm very proud because I'm joining the European champions,” he said.

Luis Enrique Was Key to His PSG Move

One of the main figures behind the transfer was Luis Enrique, who had previously worked with Ferran Torres with the Spain National Team. The forward highlighted the confidence the coach has always shown in him and said he now hopes to repay that trust on the field.

He also acknowledged the importance of Luis Campos during negotiations. Both played key roles in convincing the Spaniard to begin this new adventure.

Ferran, who has only been in Paris for a few weeks, also emphasized his ability to play in different attacking positions. Although he has become accustomed to playing as a center forward in recent seasons, he is willing to play wherever Luis Enrique needs him.
