How and Where to Watch — Lens vs. Le Havre on beIN SPORTS
Lens focuses on regaining the Ligue 1 top spot with a win against Le Havre on Friday
What was very bad news for PSG during the week, with the reigning Ligue 1 champions now being forced into a two-legged playoff battle in the Champions League, could be very good news for Lens. While Lens lost in Ligue 1 last weekend away at Marseille, ending a ten-match winning streak and enabling PSG to leapfrog them into the top spot, the title race is still very much alive.
Despite the setback, Les Sang et Or are still just two points behind PSG in the standings and know that their title rivals are going to be more stretched than ever with two tough extra games to squeeze into their calendar. Lens can strike the first blow on Friday with a home win against Le Havre, that would put the team back to the top and force PSG to match Lens result for result.
While Le Havre is at the other end of the standings in Ligue 1, fourth from bottom, the fellow side from the north of France is in better form of late and on a three-match unbeaten run, including a goalless draw last Saturday against Monaco. However, playing in front of a packed home crowd in Lens is another matter, fans who know that a chance to win a first league title since 1998 could be on the cards.
