Messi Is Left without Protection: the Drastic Decision by the MLS Regarding his Bodyguard
Yassine Cheuko, recognized bodyguard of Leo Messi, has been banned by the MLS
The significance of Leo Messi and the madness his mere presence generates wherever he goes led him to make the decision to hire private security to protect himself from the more radical fans. For years, the presence of Yassine Cheuko has followed him like a shadow. He doesn’t separate more than half a meter from him. However, now Messi is left without protection.

Yassine Cheuko will not step foot in the MLS again
Since his arrival in the United States, the figure of Yassine Cheuko gained more prominence due to the euphoria triggered by the signing of Leo Messi to Inter Miami, and he even went viral on social media. However, he has been informed that the MLS has banned his presence in the stadiums... including Chase Stadium, where Inter Miami plays its matches.
A decision that Yassine Cheuko did not take long to react to, expressing his total disagreement: “I worked in Europe for seven years in Ligue 1 and the Champions League, and only six people invaded the pitch. I came to the United States, and in 20 months of work, 16 people have already gotten on the field. I am not the problem. Let me help Messi.”
Messi’s bodyguard blames the MLS security
This, however, is not the first claim made by Messi's bodyguard since he started accompanying him across the United States. In fact, last February, he sent a strong message to the security staff present at MLS stadiums. “It’s not my job to stop fans who invade the pitch. That’s the responsibility of the stadium security. But let’s be honest: most of them aren’t fully focused on their duties.”
In his interview with ‘House of Highlight,’ he also defended his work as a member of CONCACAF security, where he is supposed to continue working during ConcaChampions matches. “I love the MLS and Concacaf, but we need to work together. I love helping. I’m not better than anyone, but I have a lot of experience in Europe. That’s fine, I understand their decision, but I think we could do something better.”
