The Dream Farewell: Chase Stadium Prepares for Its Final Big Night With Messi
Chase Stadium is ready to host its final chapter as the home of Inter Miami, and it couldn’t ask for a grander ending. The Fort Lauderdale venue will stage the 2025 MLS Cup Final, a historic showdown in which Las Garzas will take on the Vancouver Whitecaps with the chance to lift the first league title in their young history. A perfect combination: farewell, a final and Lionel Messi on the pitch.
A Stadium Saying Goodbye With a Final to Remember
Inaugurated in 2020, Chase Stadium marked the beginning of Inter Miami’s journey in MLS. Since then, it has witnessed the club’s growth, endured turbulent seasons, and served as the epicenter of the global revolution sparked by the arrivals of Messi, Busquets and Jordi Alba.
Now, the venue will bid farewell in spectacular fashion. After this final, the team will officially move to the long-awaited Miami Freedom Park, set to open on April 4, 2026, when the pink-and-black host Austin FC.
But before taking that leap into the future, Chase Stadium wants to say goodbye the right way: with a match that could forever change the club’s history. Inter Miami has the chance to win its first MLS Cup, a dream the franchise has chased since its founding.
Messi vs Müller: One Last Chapter in Fort Lauderdale
The opponent won’t make it easy. The Vancouver Whitecaps arrive motivated, confident after eliminating Inter Miami in the recent Concacaf Champions Cup, and strengthened by the addition of a global superstar: Thomas Müller, one of the most influential players of his generation.
The duel between Messi and Müller adds a special twist to a final that already promised high drama. Two World Cup champions, two living legends and the chance to close a stadium with one of the most iconic matchups modern football can offer.
A Venue That Will Remain Part of the Project
Although Inter Miami’s first team is moving out, Chase Stadium will not be abandoned. The complex will continue serving as the home of the academy, Inter Miami II, and the Florida Blue Training Center, maintaining its role as a developmental base for the franchise. With a capacity of around 21,550 spectators, the stadium will continue generating stories, though no longer in MLS action.
