Guardiola Admits Mistake at Manchester City: "Maybe I Should Have..."
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has taken responsibility for the team's difficult moment and admitted that he might have strengthened the squad during the last transfer window, in which only Ilkay Gündogan and Savinho were signed.
Guardiola Admits to Transfer Decision
"In the summer, the club considered it (signings), and I said: no, I don't want signings," Guardiola stated at a press conference. "I have a lot of trust in these players, and I thought we could repeat our successes, but after the injuries we've had, maybe we should have signed players."
Sixth Place in the Premier League...
Manchester City, who will face Brentford on Tuesday, currently sits in sixth place in the Premier League, 12 points behind the leader. The team is also out of the League Cup and will play a crucial Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain to avoid early elimination.
Injuries and Transfer Requests
The club has dealt with a season plagued by injuries, particularly to Rodrigo Hernández, who suffered a torn cruciate ligament. Additionally, players like Kyle Walker have requested to leave during the winter transfer window.
