Boca Juniors Confirm Signing of Ander Herrera
Boca Juniors officially confirmed the arrival of Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera to Argentine football and its 'Xeneize' squad through a brief statement. The club also announced that Herrera will land in Buenos Aires on Wednesday to join his new team.
“Ander Herrera will arrive in the country on Wednesday to undergo the necessary medical exams. If no issues arise, he will become a Boca player,” the club stated on its social media.
According to sources close to the Argentine club who spoke with EFE, the 35-year-old midfielder arrives “with his transfer in hand after Athletic Bilbao granted him an early release, six months before his contract with the Basque club was set to expire.”
A Dream Come True for Ander Herrera
Ander Herrera, who visited La Bombonera in 2023 and expressed his admiration for the Argentine club, is now fulfilling his dream. He follows in the footsteps of Iker Muniain, who joined San Lorenzo last year.
This past Sunday, Herrera showed his affection for Boca once again when, leaving a training session at Athletic Bilbao’s Lezama facility, he told Diario Olé: "I can’t even sleep thinking about it. What was in my hands is already done. Now, just a few things remain to be seen."
