Guardiola Warns: "We Have a Problem"
The Manchester City manager admitted that his team is not in the best condition right at the crucial stretch of the season.
Pep Guardiola, Manchester City's manager, admitted that they "have a problem". In the recent games they have been "very tired" and he assured, regarding the possible rest of Rodrigo Hernández, that if a player doesn't want to play, "he won't play".
City has had to play four games in ten days, competing in the Premier League and the Champions League, and has come out more than unscathed, with three league wins and a draw against Real Madrid (3-3) in the first leg of the quarter-finals.
The Spanish coach was asked in a press conference on Friday about the possible rest for Rodrigo, after he admitted to being tired, and he was very clear: "Look at our games and you will realize. It's very simple. It's very important for the quality he brings us, but if a player doesn't want to play, he won't play".
"I also have to give rest to the center-backs, but in the England friendlies, John Stones and Kyle Walker got injured and couldn't rest. We have a very big problem. I have the feeling that we have been very tired in the recent games. Tomorrow we will decide what we have to do," Guardiola admitted.
City will play against Luton Town this Saturday, unable to afford a mistake to continue competing for the Premier League title, and with an eye on the second leg of the quarter-finals against Real Madrid next Wednesday.
