Unai Emery Extend Contract with Aston Villa Until 2027
The Spanish coach has extended his contract with the British team until 2027.
Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, has extended his contract with the English team until 2027.
The Spanish coach has Aston Villa in fourth place in the Premier League, with a six-point lead but two more games played than Tottenham Hotspur, and in the semi-finals of the Conference League. If Villa qualifies for the
Champions League, it would be their first appearance in the competition since 1983 when they entered as champions of the previous edition.
Emery, signed in October 2022, led the club to finish last season in seventh place, securing their first European qualification since 2010, despite taking over the team in seventeenth place.
"We are enjoying our time at Aston Villa with the fans, the management, the coaching staff, and this great group of players that we are so proud of," said Emery.ç
"We all share the same vision. The owners support me a lot and are very respectful. We have a great atmosphere and the perfect structure to develop this club. We have to maintain the spirit of hard work, smart decisions, and coordination with the owners that we have had during this time. We will work to be better and better. Ambition has always been the driving force of this project."
With this contract extension, Emery dispels any rumors of a departure to, for example, Bayern Munich, one of the clubs looking for a coach for the next season.
