Hearts 1-3 Rangers: Two McCart own goals seal visitors' fifth straight league win
Rangers made it five straight Scottish Premiership wins in a row, though they were aided by two own goals at Tynecastle.
Jamie McCart scored two own goals as Rangers overcame Hearts 3-1 for their fifth straight Scottish Premiership win.
Vaclav Cerny was also on target with his 10th league goal of the season for Philippe Clement's side, who bounced back from last weekend's shock Scottish Cup defeat to Queen's Park.
Rangers opened the scoring in the 20th minute at Tynecastle as Craig Gordon parried Ianis Hagi's low cross against McCart and into his own net.
Hearts sought a response and Jack Butland made three smart saves to thwart Elton Kabangu, while also tipping over Lawrence Shankland's dipping long-range volley.
However, the equaliser did arrive four minutes after the restart, with Michael Steinwender heading home from James Penrice's corner.
Nevertheless, the visitors regained their lead just after the hour mark as Cerny fired in from close range, while a second McCart own goal in the 73rd minute put the contest beyond Hearts.
Data Debrief: McCart sets new record as Rangers equal one
It was a sorry day for McCart, who unwittingly wrote his name into the history books in the process. He is the first player in Scottish Premiership history to score two own goals in the same match.
Meanwhile, Rangers stretched their unbeaten streak against Hearts to 18 matches in all competitions.
They also equalled a club record of five successive Scottish Premiership victories by more than one goal, matching their streak under Michael Beale in April 2023.
On an individual note, Tavernier became the first non-Scottish player to make 300 appearances in the division since its rebranding in 2013.
