João Félix Wants to Stay at AC Milan: His Future after The Loan
Portuguese international João Félix was officially presented as a new AC Milan player on Monday, February 10. In his first press conference, the forward hinted at his desire to extend his stay at the Lombard club beyond his loan, following in the footsteps of his idol, Kaká.

His departure from Chelsea left no doubts about his future at the English club. Coach Enzo Maresca, when asked about Félix’s absence after the Blues' elimination from the FA Cup, made it clear that they did not miss the Portuguese player and were happy that he was enjoying his time in Milan. With Stamford Bridge no longer an option, his loan to Milan became a fresh opportunity to showcase his talent, something he had already tried last season at FC Barcelona, where the club would have considered signing him permanently if not for financial constraints.
"I’m on loan until June, we’ll see what happens. For now, I’m enjoying everything: the club, the people, the facilities. They have welcomed my family and me very well. I feel comfortable here, but we all know that in football, things can change quickly. If there were a chance to stay at Milan, I would love it," João Félix said during his presentation.
A dream inspired by Kaká
Félix’s desire to remain at AC Milan is not only driven by his need for stability but also by his admiration for Kaká, a club legend. "He is my all-time favorite player. I never spoke to him about coming here, but I met him in the past in the United States. He is an idol; I can’t compare myself to him, but I would love to achieve what he did at Milan," he admitted. The Brazilian’s legacy remains alive among the Rossoneri fans, particularly for his role in the 2006-07 Champions League triumph and his subsequent Ballon d’Or win.
Although João Félix acknowledges that reaching Kaká’s level is a difficult task, his determination remains firm. "You always hope to play at the highest level, but if things don’t go well, it’s important to persevere," he stated.
The Portuguese forward, who already made an impact by scoring on his Milan debut in the Coppa Italia on February 5, seems to have found the perfect environment to reignite his career. Now, under the guidance of his compatriot Sérgio Conceição, who convinced him to join the club, João Félix hopes to establish himself as a key player in the Rossoneri project.
