Paul Pogba May Not Return to Juventus, Where Will He Play?
The good news for Paul Pogba arrived, but it came with another piece of news that may not be as pleasant for the French footballer, who is likely preparing for his return to the field.
The midfielder will be able to play again in March 2025 after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced his doping ban from four years to just 18 months, something to which the Frenchman reacted, saying, "Finally, the nightmare is over," through a statement.
What’s the bad news for Pogba?
Starting in January, he will be allowed to train again with Juventus, the club with which he has a contract until 2026, aiming to be match-fit by March. However, it’s unlikely that will happen. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, which featured on its Saturday cover: "Pogba will return in March, but not to Juve." Most Italian media outlets are reporting that the Bianconeri club plans to terminate his contract.
The 31-year-old Juventus player appealed the sanction imposed by the Italian Anti-Doping Tribunal on February 29, 2024, after testing positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) following a Serie A match against Udinese on August 20, 2023. "The ban has been reduced to 18 months, starting from September 11, 2023," CAS General Director Matthieu Reeb told Reuters.
