Neto Returns to Turin Nine Years Later

Juventus has turned to a familiar face to address its problems in goal. The Italian club officially announced the return of Brazilian goalkeeper Norberto Neto, who is back in Turin nine years after his departure.

According to information from MARCA, the 37-year-old goalkeeper arrives as a free agent and has signed a contract through June 30, 2027. His signing comes after the serious injury suffered by Kamil Grabara, who tore his ACL a few weeks ago and will be sidelined for an extended period.

Neto had been without a club since ending his spell with Botafogo during the summer, allowing Juventus to immediately bring him in to strengthen a position weakened by Grabara's absence.

A Second Spell With Juventus

This will not be the Brazilian's first experience with the Bianconeri. Neto previously played for Juventus between 2015 and 2017, making 22 official appearances.

During those two seasons, he was part of one of the most successful periods in the Turin club's history. The goalkeeper won two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia trophies and one Supercoppa Italiana before leaving the club to continue his career in Spain.

He now returns in a different role and with the experience accumulated over nearly a decade playing in different leagues.

A Career Across Several European Clubs

At 37, Neto has built an extensive career in European soccer. In addition to his two spells with Juventus, the Brazilian has represented Fiorentina, Valencia, Barcelona, Bournemouth and Arsenal, as well as his recent stint with Botafogo.

His return provides an immediate solution for Juventus following a significant injury within the squad. The Italian club is turning to a player who already knows the organization and will bring experience for the remainder of the season.
