Ismael Garcia Gomez, assistant coach of Galatasaray, shared with the BBC the details of how Victor Osimhen's transfer to the Turkish club unfolded.
In his statements, Gomez mentioned: "As everyone knows, Osimhen's summer was quite unstable, as there were many rumors that he would not stay at Napoli. There were talks of interest from Saudi Arabia and Chelsea, but I don't know all the details of what happened."
Gomez also noted that coach Okan Buruk had direct contact with the Nigerian player: "Before the transfer was finalized, while we were returning from an away game, Okan Buruk spoke with Osimhen on the phone. The transfer was completed within two days. It was an incredible way to start the season for the club and the fans to have such a signing."
Additionally, Garcia Gomez emphasized Osimhen's enthusiasm about joining the team: "Galatasaray was a great option for him. We could see that he was eager to be part of the Galatasaray family, and that made the agreement much easier."
