Fenerbahçe Rallies to Beat 9-Man Rizespor

In a dramatic Süper Lig showdown, Fenerbahçe staged an incredible comeback to defeat Çaykur Rizespor 3-2 after falling behind by two goals. Despite having two goals disallowed and hitting the post four times, Ismail Kartal’s squad showed resilience to secure three crucial points at Ülker Stadium.
The match started with a shock as Ali Sowe scored twice in quick succession, in the 6th and 13th minutes, putting the hosts under pressure. However, Fenerbahçe responded just before halftime when Edin Džeko converted a penalty in stoppage time. Adding to their woes, Rizespor was reduced to ten men after Olawoyin received a red card.
The second half was even more intense. In the 78th minute, Rachid Ghezzal saw a second yellow card, leaving Rizespor with just nine players. Just a minute later, Džeko struck again to equalize. With relentless pressure from Fenerbahçe, the comeback was completed in the 89th minute when Youssef En-Nesyri headed home the winning goal.
With this victory, Fenerbahçe moves up to 49 points, keeping their title hopes alive, while Çaykur Rizespor remains at 28 points. Up next, the Istanbul giants will face Corendon Alanyaspor, while Rizespor will take on Kasımpaşa.
