De Paul Silences Critics, Aiming for Higher Standards
Atlético Madrid’s Argentine midfielder Rodrigo de Paul acknowledged the recent whistles from the stands in his last game and said he sees them as a sign that fans believe he can deliver more.
“If they demand more from me, it’s because they think I can give more, so I welcome it—it's good for all of us to keep improving. I understand the expectations at this club, it’s huge and needs to win every game. I’m trying to do my best; the start could’ve been better, but I think it’ll be a great year,” the Argentine assured during the press conference ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.
De Paul also highlighted PSG’s current strong form. “These matches are incredible; they bring together some of the world’s best teams. We’ll do our best to leave here feeling satisfied. We know the opponent, their fans, their coaching staff, and the demands they face. I think it’ll be a great show,” he said.
