Mbappé Reveals What He Had to Change to Return to His Best Form
The Real Madrid forward expressed understanding of the criticism he received and stated that he had to change something to return to his best form.
Frenchman Kylian Mbappé acknowledged that he has "changed his mentality" to shine at Real Madrid and "prove" the player he is, understanding the criticism he faced during his adaptation period and focusing on extending his current performance to fight for major titles in the second half of the season.
"I’m very calm, it’s very normal when you’re a player like me, with everything that was expected of me, that people may talk badly. It’s not personal in the world of football. When you play well, they speak well, and badly if you play badly. I knew I could change the situation, as I have done, and I’m very happy to help the team as I have in the last few matches," he admitted in a press conference.
Mbappé, who has scored 18 goals, set no limits and assured that if he can score more than 40 goals, he will try to after rediscovering his best form.
"I’m a player who always wants to do more, the best for myself and for my team. It’s normal that playing here impacts you. It’s a great opportunity, and I’ve always said that I knew this moment could come, and I changed my mentality to show that I am a player of great quality who can help Real Madrid," he stated.
