Austria beat Poland and dreams of the Round of 16 of Euro 2024.
Austria's national team beat Poland 3-1 in the second match of Group D in Euro 2024, played at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. With this result, Austria dreams of advancing to the next round while Poland is practically out of the competition.
The score opened early in the game when Gernot Trauner scored a header in the 9' minute, putting Austria up 1-0 in Berlin.
Minutes later, Krzysztof Piatek leveled the match after a series of rebounds in Austria's area, tying the game 1-1 in the 30' minute of the first half.
In the second half, Christoph Baumgartner finished off an excellent play to put Austria ahead 2-1 in the 66' minute, keeping their victory hopes alive.
Ten minutes before the end, Marko Arnautovic dashed Poland's hopes of a draw by scoring a penalty, making it 3-1 for Austria and securing the three points that keep them in the fight for a spot in the round of 16.
