Czech Republic on Alert Over Injury to Their Top Scorer
Czech Republic's star striker and Bayern Leverkusen player, Patrick Schick, had to leave the game this Saturday due to a muscle strain, apparently in his calf, in the 68th minute of the Euro 2024 Group F match against Georgia at Hamburg's Volksparkstadion.
The forward, who had just scored the equalizer moments before, felt the discomfort, got treated on the field, and immediately asked to be subbed out. He was replaced by Mojmil Chytir. The extent of the injury could even jeopardize his participation in the rest of the tournament.
Schick was a standout star for the Czechs in the last edition of the Euro, finishing second in the scoring charts, just behind Cristiano Ronaldo, and he remains the top scorer for his country in the history of the Euros.
