VIDEO | Epic: The Historic Commentary of Georgia's First Ever Euros Goal
It's not every day a country scores its first ever goal in a Euro Cup. This is how a Georgian TV channel uniquely narrated it. Absolute passion.
When Georgia scored the goal that temporarily tied the game against Turkey in their Euro debut, thousands of Georgian fans celebrated wildly. And rightfully so—it was the first goal in their history at a Euro Cup.
All Georgians celebrated with overflowing euphoria: those present at Signal Iduna Park, fans watching from home, and even the commentators and announcers on Georgian TV, who, like true fans, unleashed their passion.
It doesn't matter if you don't understand Georgian because the passion for football is a universal language, and in that historic moment for a country, everything is understood.
Unfortunately for Georgia, the match didn't end on a high note. The Euro Cup debutants lost 3-1 after Arda Güler invented one of the goals of the tournament with a stunning shot into the top corner, breaking the tie that the Georgians had achieved.
Nevertheless, Georgia continues to dream of qualifying for the round of 16 in their first Euro Cup. To do so, they will need to collect as many points as possible in their next two matches against the Czech Republic and Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal.
