Jack Draper has withdrawn from the Washington Open due to a left arm injury, continuing a disrupted season for the Brit.

Draper has missed all three grand slams this year and has been limited to just 14 matches across the last 12 months.

The 24-year-old initially suffered his arm injury at the 2025 US Open, where he was forced to withdraw from a scheduled second-round matchup with Zizou Bergs.

Having climbed as high as fourth in the ATP World Rankings in June 2025, Draper has now tumbled to 131st, meaning he will have to go through qualifying if he is to appear at the US Open.

And his preparations for that event took a major blow on Monday as he withdrew from the Washington tournament, where he had been due to face Alex Michelsen on Tuesday.

Tournament organisers confirmed lucky loser Mackenzie McDonald would take Draper's place.

Draper had been handed a wildcard for the event, having brought former three-time grand slam champion Andy Murray back into his coaching team in May.

The Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Open are the two ATP Masters 1000 events on the calendar prior to the US Open, which will run from August 30 to September 13.
