Malen swaps Dortmund for Villa for undisclosed fee
Aston Villa have made its first signing of the January transfer window, with forward Donyell Malen arriving from Borussia Dortmund for an undisclosed fee.
The Netherlands international, who was part of the side that reached the UEFA Euro 2024 semi-finals, is Unai Emery's first arrival in the January transfer window.
Malen departs Dortmund after making 132 appearances across all competitions in three-and-a-half years with the Bundesliga giant, scoring 39 goals.
The forward helped the Black and Yellow reach last season's UEFA Champions League final, in which it was beaten 2-0 by Real Madrid, while also netting 13 times in Bundesliga.
The 25-year-old, who began his career with PSV, will add to the attacking quality at Villa's disposal, and provide competition for the likes of Ollie Watkins, Jhon Duran, Morgan Rogers and Leon Bailey.
Malen could make his debut for Emery's side, which is eighth on the Premier League table and four points off the top four, in Thursday's (AEDT) clash with Everton at Goodison Park.
