De Minaur crushed the challenge of giantkiller Alex Michelsen in the first set of their encounter, claiming it 6-0.
While the American gave the 25-year-old Australian a sterner test thereafter, De Minaur still won convincingly, taking the match in straight sets 6-0 7-6 6-3.
Sinner had a few more dramas in his clash with No.13 seed Holger Rune, visibly struggling with illness before putting the Dane away 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-2.
De Minaur will hope to take advantage of any weakness Sinner might show when they meet in the last eight, but goes into the match with a woeful record of 0-9 against the Italian, and not having taken a set off him since 2022.
Sinner's most recent wins over the Australian came at the back end of last year when he beat him by a scoreline of 6-3 6-4 at both the Nitto ATP Finals and also the Davis Cup.
