Here’s the Latest Update on Shohei Ohtani’s Injury
Ohtani has been the Dodgers' main offensive weapon throughout the regular season and their Most Valuable Player.
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed this Saturday that Japanese star Shohei Ohtani suffered a partial dislocation in his left shoulder, and they are awaiting further tests to determine the severity of the injury.
"He has a subluxation in his left shoulder. We’ll conduct some studies either tonight or tomorrow. Then, we’ll know more in the coming days. Once we have the scans, we’ll have a clearer picture," Roberts told the media at Dodger Stadium after his team’s 4-2 win over the Yankees in Game 2 of the World Series.
Ohtani sustained the injury while sliding into second base in a stolen base attempt in the seventh inning. After the play, he remained on the ground for a few minutes and was assisted off the field, with the medical staff supporting his left arm.
Despite the situation, Roberts remained optimistic. “The strength was excellent, and the range of motion was good, so we’re encouraged,” explained the Dodgers’ manager.
The Dodgers now head to New York with a 2-0 lead, hoping to have Ohtani back for Game 3 on Monday at Yankee Stadium.
