UFC: Alex Pereira’s Photo Hints at Challenge to Tom Aspinall
Alex Pereira once again put on a show inside the octagon, retaining his light heavyweight title during UFC 307, where his victim was Khalil Rountree Jr. in a fight that could serve as a warning to Tom Aspinall.
The Brazilian fighter posted a photo on his social media with an encrypted message aimed at the British fighter, who is looking to take one of his titles.
The photo in question shows Pereira focused on his fight, with Tom Aspinall staring intently in the background, accompanied by the caption, "This is one of my favorite pre-fight moments."
This message might lead us to think that Alex Pereira is considering moving up to the heavyweight division to challenge Aspinall, the interim champion.
How did Pereira’s brutal knockout come about?
The Brazilian was patient throughout his fight, landing effective blows on Khalil Rountree, who tried to respond and even appeared to hurt Pereira by buckling his legs; however, in the end, the Brazilian's "hands of stone" finished him off.
Tom Aspinall is the interim UFC heavyweight champion, after Jon Jones was injured and could not remain active to continue defending the 265-pound title.
