Tyreek Hill Challenges Noah Lyles to a Race
Tyreek Hill, the star wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, kept the beef going with Noah Lyles, the gold medalist in the 100 meters at the last Paris Olympics, by challenging him to a 50-yard (45.72 meters) race.
"Sign the contract and lock in that 50-yard race," said the Super Bowl LIV champion, who won with his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs, as he called out the U.S. Olympic sprinter. This challenge was in response to Lyles' comments during an interview the previous Saturday, where he claimed that Tyreek Hill was just using his name for clout.
"He’s just chasing clout. The man’s all talk. I don’t have time for that. If he’s really serious, and I don’t mean just online trash talk, he should have his agent reach out to mine and say, ‘Let’s make this happen.’ If it’s for real, he’ll see me on the track," said the Olympic champion.
Back on August 12th, Hill boldly claimed he could beat the 100-meter gold and 200-meter bronze medalist in a race. "He should stick to talking about what he knows, and that’s the track. I’d smoke Noah Lyles," the eight-time Pro Bowler said a couple of weeks ago.
Hill also accused Lyles of lying about running the 200-meter race while sick with COVID-19. The Dolphins’ receiver’s irritation added fuel to the fire, along with several NBA players, especially from the 2023 champions, the Denver Nuggets, who were upset over Noah Lyles' criticism of them calling themselves "world champions" for winning that season.
"Champions of what? The United States? I love the U.S., but there are no flags in the NBA," the sprinter said about the Nuggets' celebration. The U.S. team kept the drama going after they won the gold at the Paris Games, responding to Noah Lyles on their 'X' account. "Are we world champions now?" Team USA posted on the social network.
