(VIDEO) Tigres Femenil Score the Best Goal Ever Seen in Women's Soccer
In a tight match that was becoming increasingly difficult for Tigres Femenil, Lizbeth Ovalle delivered not just the best goal of the round, but possibly the tournament, with a stunning strike that could be worthy of a Puskas nomination.
Ovalle's Puskas-Worthy Goal
In the 75th minute, with the score still 0-0, Chivas cleared a corner kick, but the rebound fell to Jennifer Hermoso on the right wing. She cut inside and sent a cross back into the box. Ovalle, performing an almost impossible acrobatic move, connected with the ball in mid-air, sending it into the top corner, out of reach of goalkeeper Blanca Félix.
Ovalle's move was nearly indescribable; she jumped backward toward the goal and executed a ‘scorpion kick’ that sent the ball flying straight toward the net. It was an impossible save for Chivas’ Blanca Félix.

In an interview with Fox Sports, Lizbeth Ovalle admitted she wasn’t sure how she scored the goal, which might even be nominated for the Puskas award. Still, she dubbed the shot “El Camaroncín.”
“I don’t even know how I scored it, I haven’t watched it. We call it ‘El Camaroncín.’ I just saw the cross and thought, ‘As long as I touch it, wherever it goes,’” Ovalle said.
Tigres Femenil Triumphs Over Chivas 2-0
Ovalle’s goal came to the rescue for Tigres Femenil, who had struggled offensively and missed several clear chances from the first half. The match was dominated by Chivas goalkeeper Blanca Félix, who made crucial saves, but after Ovalle’s strike, Jheniffer Da Silva added another goal to seal the 2-0 victory for Tigres.
