Sandro Tonali Faces New Allegation of 50 Illegal Bets!
Newcastle United's Italian midfielder, Sandro Tonali, is facing accusations of allegedly violating the English Football Association's (FA) rules on betting on football matches on up to 50 occasions.
According to a statement from the FA, 23-year-old Tonali has until April 5th to respond to the accusations, which cover a period between August 12, 2023, and October 12, 2023.Tonali is already serving a ten-month ban imposed by the Italian federation since last October for breaching betting rules in Italy.
The player, considered one of Italy's great football prospects, joined Newcastle from AC Milan last July for a fee of £55 million (approximately €64 million).
Newcastle, in its initial response to the new allegation, stated that it "acknowledges" the charges and affirmed that Tonali continues to fully cooperate with the investigations, receiving full support from the club.
The statement from the northern English club also announced that they would not make further comments on the matter at this time.
