The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the 2026-27 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round draws will take place on August 6.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the 2026-27 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round draws will take place on August 6.
CAF Confirms Date And Kickoff Times For Both Draws
CAF announced in a statement:
"The journey toward continental club glory begins on Thursday, August 6, 2026, when the preliminary round draws for the 2026-27 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup will take place at the Confederation of African Football headquarters in Cairo, Egypt."
The statement added:
"Teams from across the continent will discover their first opponents as they begin their quest to reach the group stage of Africa's two premier club competitions."
According to CAF, the CAF Confederation Cup draw will begin at 2:00 p.m. Cairo time (11:00 a.m. GMT / 7:00 a.m. ET).
The CAF Champions League draw will follow at 3:00 p.m. Cairo time (12:00 p.m. GMT / 8:00 a.m. ET).
