Brutal Reward from Florentino Pérez for All the Players of Real Madrid
All the players of Real Madrid will receive 250,000 euros as a bonus for the effort this season is requiring
During his two terms as president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez has never been very fond of giving bonuses to his players for good performance… because he believes that winning is always an obligation at Real Madrid. However, it seems that this season he has extended his hand and will reward the entire squad with a generous sum of money.

Six million euros in bonuses for all the players of Real Madrid
As COPE reported and MARCA was able to confirm, all the players will receive an additional 250,000 euros for the effort made during the final weeks of the competition before the FIFA Date, which led to their advancement to the Champions League quarterfinals after defeating Atlético de Madrid in the penalty shootout. That means, with 23 players on the squad, the total sum could reach close to six million euros.
All of this, of course, has a reasonable explanation. It’s important to note that, until last season, every champion team in the Champions League played a total of 13 matches. Six in the old group stage, another six in the knockout rounds from the Round of 16 to the semifinals, and logically, the final in a single match. However, this scenario has changed completely this season with the implementation of the new Champions League format.
Real Madrid has played just one match less in the Champions League than last season
So far, all teams have played two more matches during the tournament's first phase. Additionally, all those who ended up in the 'playoffs' round had to play two extra games to qualify for the Round of 16. This was the case for Real Madrid, who had to face Manchester City, as they were placed in the 11th position in the group phase.
At this point in the Champions League, with the quarterfinals still to be played, Real Madrid has already played 12 matches. That’s just one less than the 13 matches they played last season when they lifted the trophy at Wembley. Thus, considering they will also compete in the upcoming Club World Cup, Florentino Pérez has changed his policy to reward the effort the squad has been putting in.
