Dani Olmo Speaks Out on Social Media and Lamine Yamal Responds
While there's talk of Dani Olmo leaving Barcelona, the forward posted a revealing message on social media. Pay attention to Lamine Yamal's reaction – it says it all.
As Dani Olmo’s registration at FC Barcelona remains uncertain due to LaLiga’s refusal, the forward isn’t letting the situation dampen his spirits. Celebrating the New Year with his partner and friends, Olmo took to social media to share a hopeful message, fueling speculation that he could stay at the club. “It’s 2025 time,” he wrote, accompanied by two heart emojis in Barcelona’s iconic blue and garnet colors.
The 48 million euro signing from Leipzig in August displayed a confident outlook, despite the ongoing registration issues. His post, which included him making a gesture reminiscent of NBA star Damian Lillard, seemed to lighten the mood surrounding the club's tense situation.
His supporters were quick to react, with Barcelona teammates Lamine Yamal and Iñigo Martínez showing their support. Yamal, in particular, expressed his enthusiasm with a playful “Dani Olmo es culerrrrrr,” while Martínez responded with nine clock emojis, likely referencing the urgency of the registration matter.
As the deadline passed on December 31, 2024, for LaLiga to approve the necessary documentation for Olmo’s registration, the situation remains unresolved. Barcelona had submitted paperwork regarding the sale of VIP boxes at the future Spotify Camp Nou, which was expected to facilitate the registration of Olmo and Pau Víctor. However, LaLiga’s response was firm: “The FC Barcelona has not presented any alternative that allows the inscription of any player starting January 2,” according to the league’s official statement.
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) also confirmed that without LaLiga’s approval, it couldn’t process the necessary license for Olmo or Víctor. Barcelona has not given up hope, though, and plans to present more information on January 3. The club’s management has left the door open for both players to be registered in the second half of the season.
Should Olmo’s registration remain unresolved, he could be free to leave the club starting January 1, potentially attracting interest from top European clubs. In such a case, Olmo would be entitled to claim the full salary he was set to receive until 2030. For now, though, his hopeful social media post suggests he’s focused on the positive side of the situation as fans eagerly await clarity on his future.
Deleted from LaLiga
As Barcelona continues working on the procedures to re-register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, both forwards have disappeared from the official roster registered with LaLiga. This adds more pressure on the Catalan club.
