Insecurity or Altruism from Kylian Mbappé? Here's What Carlo Ancelotti Said
Kylian Mbappé passed the penalty to Jude Bellingham against Getafe, and the Italian coach of Real Madrid praised the gesture made by the Frenchman.
The Italian Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, praised Kylian Mbappé's attitude for allowing Jude Bellingham to take the penalty against Getafe, just three days after the Frenchman missed one at Anfield. Ancelotti emphasized that they do not view it as a sign of insecurity, but as an act of "altruism," which he considers one of "the greatest talents in football."
A Selfless Act of Responsibility
"Tomorrow they will both choose: Bellingham or Mbappé. Whoever is in better condition to take it. It's not a topic for debate. Mbappé's action with the penalty against Getafe might be seen by some as insecurity, but we see it as an act of responsibility and altruism, two very important aspects. The altruism of a great talent like Mbappé is something we value a lot," he said in a press conference.
Ancelotti Reflects on Mbappé's Value
"It elevates him. We value the act of altruism a lot. He is a player with extraordinary talent, possibly the greatest talent in football, and he places the team first. It is something I personally value greatly," he added.
A Boost for the Team and His Teammates
"It was a very important act for the team and his teammates. We all appreciate it as a great act of altruism. And these actions show that you're on the right path," he concluded.
Bellingham’s Recent Success Linked to Team Dynamics
Ancelotti also linked Bellingham's recent success in front of goal—scoring three goals and providing two assists in the last three league games—with Mbappé's improvement.
"The best dynamics within the team have allowed him to start scoring goals again, especially. Jude has always had good matches. We have more accuracy in possession and more clarity. The individual improvement of some players, particularly Mbappé, has allowed us to open up more space in the final third, and he has taken advantage of this," he said.
