Lamine Yamal Fades with Barcelona: His Last Goal in LaLiga… Was Against Real Madrid!
The Barcelona winger has gone 13 matches without scoring in the Spanish league
Lamine Yamal celebrated a historic night by reaching 100 matches as a professional before turning 18, an impressive milestone for any player. To put it in perspective, Lionel Messi didn’t reach that figure until he was over 20 years old. However, Yamal is going through a tough time in his season, especially in LaLiga, where he has accumulated 13 matches without scoring a goal.

The goal that made history in El Clásico
His last goal in the Spanish league was on October 26, 2024, when Barcelona defeated Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. In that match, Yamal became the youngest player to score in El Clásico, at 17 years, three months, and 14 days, surpassing Ansu Fati in this record. Since then, he has registered five assists, which have allowed him to continue standing out in the competition.
Despite his lack of goals in LaLiga, Yamal is the season’s top assister with six, surpassing Iñaki Williams, who has seven assists. Although scoring has eluded him in the domestic league, he has managed to score in other competitions such as the Champions League, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa de España, showing his value across different fronts.
The importance of Lamine Yamal at Barcelona
Yamal’s absence due to an ankle injury had a negative impact on Barcelona, which suffered from an excessive dependence on his figure. In the three matches he missed due to injury against Real Sociedad, Celta, and Atlético de Madrid, the team failed to win any of them. This highlights the importance of the young talent in the club’s setup.
However, in 2025, Barcelona has improved significantly. They have won 10 out of the 12 matches played, regaining the lead in LaLiga, which shows that the team has found stability and no longer depends solely on Lamine Yamal to secure victories.
