VIDEO | Mbappé Shows Quality in Real Madrid Training
Kylian Mbappé is already warming up and demonstrating his quality in his first training sessions with Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappé completed his second preseason training session alongside Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy, Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurélien Tchouaméni. It was the first session on the field, taking place Thursday morning, before joining the full squad on Friday after Carlo Ancelotti gave two days off to those who participated in the U.S. tour.
Initially, the plan was for the entire team to train together today. However, due to the exhaustion from the last friendly match and the long journey back, Ancelotti extended the break to two days for those who took part in the U.S. tour and the first three preseason tests.
As a result, the same players from Wednesday afternoon’s session were back at Real Madrid’s training facility, with the difference that they trained on the pitch, wearing their boots.
Alongside a group of academy players, Mbappé and the six others who were allowed to extend their vacations after the Euro and Copa América ramped up the intensity. After warming up, they focused on ball work with possession and pressing exercises before playing small-sided games.
Mbappé scored his first goals in a Real Madrid training session, showing great motivation and excitement from day one under the watchful eye of Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti. Starting tomorrow, Ancelotti will begin working on tactical issues with the squad, including how he’ll fit the French forward into his starting lineup compared to last season.
The morning ended with Carvajal, Mendy, Bellingham, Valverde, Camavinga, Tchouaméni, and Mbappé working on physical conditioning under Antonio Pintus, running a series of sprints. They’ll have over 24 hours to recover from this more intense session, with the next Real Madrid training set for 5:00 p.m. on Friday, the first of the season with the full squad as they prepare for the UEFA Super Cup.
