Vinícius Criticized for "Inappropriate Gestures"
Vinícius Junior, forward for Real Madrid, has faced criticism for gestures he made toward Rayo Vallecano fans during the recent 3-3 draw at Vallecas. While the Brazilian star was subjected to taunts from the stands, his response—indicating with his fingers that Rayo would be relegated—was described as inappropriate by David Aganzo, president of the Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE).
"Not the Right Behavior for a Player of His Class"
Speaking at the Ciudad del Fútbol, Aganzo addressed the incident and called for more composure in such situations:
"Those gestures are not the most appropriate for a player of his class. But in the end, there are many nerves and difficult moments in every stadium. The result wasn’t favorable for the team, and I think such gestures can be avoided."
The criticism comes after Vinícius’ response to persistent heckling from Rayo fans during the heated match.
Calls for Professionalism and Respect
Aganzo also emphasized the need for players to maintain respect toward fans, even during emotionally charged situations:
"Vinícius is a magnificent player, but I believe there are moments where we must respect everyone, including the comments from the fans. I imagine even he isn’t happy with that action," he added, suggesting the Brazilian forward may regret his reaction.
This is not the first time Vinícius Junior has been involved in controversies regarding his interactions with fans or opponents. Despite being one of the most talented and decisive players in LaLiga, his personality and reactions under pressure have sparked debates about his conduct on the pitch.
