Vinícius Jr. Won’t Play Again for Real Madrid in 2024
The Brazilian is already on vacation but remains with the team to "build camaraderie" before celebrating the holidays.
Real Madrid is set to close the year with hopes of staying "alive" in all competitions they aspire to win. However, they know that facing Sevilla will require maximum effort as they continue their intense battle for the LaLiga top spot.
Amid these challenges and the demands of a long season, Carlo Ancelotti must adjust his lineup to account for the notable absence of Vinícius Jr.
Vinícius Jr. Already on Vacation
The Brazilian forward has been granted additional rest days compared to his teammates due to suspension. He received his fifth yellow card during the match against Rayo Vallecano, following a globally-discussed protest that many argued warranted a red card.
As a result, Vinícius will not play in Real Madrid’s final matches of 2024. Ancelotti has excused him from further action, allowing him to rest and await a possible tribute for winning the FIFA The Best Award before the next game kicks off.
Resting but Staying Close to the Team
While Vinícius Jr. won’t see action, Carlo Ancelotti’s coaching staff decided he should remain with the squad to maintain camaraderie. "He’ll return with us to Madrid," Ancelotti confirmed, dismissing any notion that Vinícius might travel elsewhere after Real Madrid’s Intercontinental Cup triumph in Doha, Qatar.
Ancelotti revealed that Vinícius trained with the group yesterday before undergoing a physiotherapy session to prevent injuries. The day after, the forward enjoyed some well-earned downtime.
